What is the best gaming video card to buy for virtualization?

I plan to use my system unit with i7 8700k for visualization (I plan local virtual machines for games, video editing, work with CAD systems). In this connection, the question is - which video card would be better to buy for less hemorrhoids with forwarding and kvm / esxi settings? What can be pitfalls?

what video card would be better to buy for less hemorrhoids with forwarding and kvm / esxi settings?

Nvidia Tesla
for the rest, look for successful forwarding experiences in the desired virtualization environment on the Internet

Forwarding vidyuhi in KVM is such a game ... I strongly advise you to first read in tyrnet everything that you can reach, because I, for example, failed to forward NVidia. There was a lot of cybersex, but the virtual Windows with the forwarded vidyuhi did not start, it kept falling into a blue screen.

Can processors with index K be able to do vt-d? Otherwise, it will not take off
PS. R9280X works great

CityCat4 Ingvar Vorzhev about forwarding NVIDIA cards
Without experience using Esxi 6.5, I rolled it up on hardware:
Asus Z10pe-d8 ws + 64RAM *2 + e5-2690 *2
P2000 Quadro
Installed Windows, forwarded the only P2000 Quadro to vm. It took me 1 hour without experience. (I have never seen ESXI)
Now in the same box there are 3 P600 Quadro + P2000 cards and everything works for 4 workstations
+ PCI-E PassThrought for Blackmagic Duo 2 on the first machine.
But before buying 3 cards, the P600 used some old GTX 4xx series for testing, and it went through with a half-poke. Instructions on how to bypass the forwarding of non-Quadro / GRID / Tesla cards are searched in Google, moreover, the very first link. There, in fact, you need to write one line in the host
Everything works without freezes and friezes. The only place where I stumbled was forwarding the USB controller. There are three of them in this motherboard. Two Intel +1 ASMEDIA. In reality, this turned out to be a big problem, because it was necessary to send 4 keyboards and 4 mice there. Unfortunately, I did not solve the problem completely through USB Passthrought. Any machine, when you press a key with a forwarded Intel hub and a forwarded video card, hung tightly. Moreover, it separately delivers an adventure when you poke into the ports of the mouse and keyboard, trying to figure out where which controller is.
ASMEDIA was able to forward it, it was necessary to register drivers for Windows separately from the vidyahi and then start it up at the same time. Without firewood - Windows flew into reboot.
I decided not to fuck my brain, I bought 3 bluetooth bluetooth, threw my Esxi controller through every car and bought a bluetooth mouse and keyboard. The main thing is not to forget to put the driver on the whistle.
Separately, I want to give a couple of tips based on the experience of solving the PCI-E PASSTHROUGHT problem (direct forwarding of video and PCI-E devices) and virtualization in general (while I was looking for a solution with USB, I re-read a lot of things):
1. Do not go into Esxi if your system does not support VT-d, S-IOV, 4G byte, ECC. In general, it is worth considering whether it is necessary when your motherboard costs only 3 rubles. Friezes and other wickedness either due to the lack of necessary technologies in the chipset, or in the number of PCI-E lanes. And of course, the processor must be i7 format (and then i7 depending on which one) / i9 / Xeon
2. Study BIOS on EFI and PCI-E loading (as far as I understand, each mother has its own rules for loading PCI-E devices). For example, blackmagic Duo 2 is ESXI, which normal win can only see if it has appeared in the system at least once. I had to transfer from the 8th slot to the second one, load it ... and then rearrange it again. Windows on the host and Esxi will never see it differently.
3. It is worth thinking twice before making such a scheme in the multiseat format. This is cheaper than buying powerful computers - of course, when you need 4 of them and with a power reserve + you need additional operating systems and any similar hat. I specifically thought. But we had a specific problem that had to be solved. If it were not there, everything would be solved with the help of RDP and one processor. As many are trying to do a la virtualization on a home computer (and there are a lot of them) - it is fraught with a waste of time into space.
