What is the best database to use for a highload Ruby on Rails project?

Colleagues, please help with choosing a database for a Ruby on Rails project.
Details:

Write/read ratio from 1/100 to 1/1000
Stored content - media (photo, video, audio, texts)
Data will be stored in structured packages

UPD: Looks like I phrased the question wrong. Need to understand whether to use a relational structure or go the noSQL route, given the source data?
Maybe some other prerequisites are missing?

A relational open source DBMS is either Postgres or MySQL/Maria/Percona.
