What is the best choice for monitoring VPS?

Hello. There is such a need to receive data on the load and uptime of the VPS, but this data must be sent to another hosting, for example, a regular Shared hosting, where there will be a page with graphs. I don't need analytics rooms, a bunch of charts and all that. You just need to send load and uptime data to another hosting.
What can solve my problem? Desirable simple free solution. I use Debian 8. I looked at Munin, but I don't quite understand if I need it or not...

If the graphics are completely stupid, then MRTG with SNMP (if the load is not needed, then without SNMP, normal pinging is enough). For example.
If a little more serious, then Nagios. There are a ton of articles on Habré.
Zabbix is just those analytics rooms, a bunch of charts and all that :) I would not advise, especially for one server.
Munin did not use it himself, but judging by what they said, it will also work well.
