What is the benefit of Google that they give their engine for free to use other browsers?
Yandex Browser, Opera - they use the Chromium engine. Why does Google let you use its engine for free? Do they collect statistics from each user?

Because it's not really their engine. Chromium is built on top of the Blink engine, which is a fork of the WebKit engine (developed by Apple) which in turn is a fork of the KHTML engine (developed by the KDE project). Closing it or rewriting it from scratch is a rather hemorrhagic task even for Google. Of course, they have enough resources, but they don’t seem to see much point in this.
