What is the alternative to rsync for detecting changes in place?

Good afternoon.
There is a task to make a backup: there must be a copy of my home folder on another machine. History is not needed, just a copy.
My home folder is about 80 Gb. The remote machine is quite slow with a slow disk.
I solved the problem with rsync. But it works very slowly. Tens of minutes with almost no change. He spends most of his time, of course, scanning a remote folder and comparing.
The question is, can I make it cache this data locally? So that he (or his alternative) locally monitors changes, and only sends changes to a remote machine. Let even without segment-by-segment comparison of files. In principle, writing such a script in java or FP is not difficult, but maybe there is something ready-made, easy and standard?
Linux OS, access to the remote machine only via ssh.
Thank you.

@MrSable

Have you tried Rsnapshot? Under the hood, of course, he has the same Rsync, but at least I didn’t notice such brakes in myself.

Didn't find what you were looking for?
