The key question is the advantage over what/whom? :-)
A question from the series: "how many tons of clover from each laying hen will be put into incubators after threshing of the fallow". In general, the file system doesn't know much about how many and what kind of disks you have. It operates with the concept of "disk partition" (aka "volume", aka volume). For UFS -- one partition cannot have more than one disk. So in UFS you can't make multi-disk arrays with a single exact mount.
This can only be done on the basis of systems such as GEOM - then yes, you can do a lot of all sorts of volume configurations on GEOM
