What is Redis for joomla and how to use it?

Greetings. I noticed the redis item in the Joomla caching settings. I googled and found nothing intelligible for myself. What is it, how to use it and will it give stability under high loads for a bulletin board site? Please leave links to manuals, explanations, etc. "for Dummies".

In general, you need Redis support on the hosting side.
