Joomla is not updated from 3.7.5 to 3.8. Why?

Good afternoon. I want to update in stages so that nothing breaks, I upload a file from 3.8 - the error "Archive is corrupted". I go to check the database just in case and I see the following errors:

The '_session' table is missing a 'session_id' field of type varchar(191). (from file 3.5.0-2015-07-01.sql.)
Table '_session' is missing a 'guest' field of type tinyint unsigned. (from file 3.9.0-2018-08-28.sql.)
The '_session' table is missing a 'time' field of type int. (from file 3.9.0-2018-08-28.sql.)

The Fix button does not fix anything, the error "Database is out of date" is on top. Could this somehow interfere with the update?

The problem was solved by updating to 3.9
