What is now relevant to study in java, and what is no longer?

I am a backend developer with almost 10 years of experience. In my work I use php/python/go. I would like to use a language with static typing for backend development, but more serious than go, which, in my opinion, is not particularly suitable for large projects. I'm looking at java. Once I mastered it at the university, I remember slightly all sorts of jsf, jsp. Advise what now it makes sense to study in java, and what not? Interested in applicable to the development of REST api, and not rendering templates and slapstick. Does it make sense to immediately dig towards Kotlin?

Kotlin definitely has a good future. Coroutines are actively developed there, which allow the most efficient use of computer resources, while the code becomes more readable. Scala is also a very expressive language in which you can gracefully write your ideas. But all this is based on Java, so you still need to learn it.
