What is more promising and profitable - printing or web with the same designer skills?
Let's say there are two super-cool specialists, each in their own field:
exclusively graphic design with printing
and
exclusively web design with usability and all things related to interfaces.
Which of them is more profitable to work? Who has a bright future? Who can make more money today? And in a few years?
The question is about the perspective of learning - in what area should a person with design skills adapt, or upgrade in printing or on the web ??? What is more profitable? After all, as you know, you can’t become a super mega professional in everything. Well, either you can, but it will not be so cool. It is clear that you can know both, and in some ways be a super pro.
But the question is precisely in what specialization is it better to dig and develop? Or maybe it will be three de graphics at all? You will chase two hares .... A philosophical question, but the opinion of professionals is interesting ....

Definitely web / interfaces. print is dead. And where there is no grandfather, there is such hazing from customers, they will knock out the whole spirit. Only in the printing industry have I met the most selective schizophrenics and psychopaths.
In addition, the future lies with electronics, everyone already doesn’t give a damn about pieces of paper by and large. The only more or less relevant sections of this area are not related to pieces of paper - the design of prints, packaging and something like that. And business cards, flyers, banners, magazines, newspapers, presentations and other rubbish - I personally recommend not to go there at all.
It is more profitable to work for someone who knows how to sell himself. You can be a super pro and not be able to sell yourself. And, accordingly, earn less than the average peasant who knows how to sell himself.
And you need to choose what you are rushing from and what you want to do.
UI / UX is more promising and clearer in terms of how and where to make money. At the expense of two birds with one stone - all nonsense. Chase at least the herd. If you are interested in both areas, do both. You don't have to worry about choosing. Do everything. The excess will just fall off.
Well, everywhere they pay well, plus or minus a thousand bucks a trifle to think about, so why the soul lies there and go
