What is informatics and what is it eaten with?

Good evening. From this year I began to study at the Faculty of Mathematics on the advice of my friend. He explained this by the fact that programming and computer science are easier to learn on the Internet and from books than mathematics. I agreed with his opinion, since before that I had mastered Python with the help of courses. Now the actual question. Where can I find a complete answer to what computer science studies and what promising areas it has. I am going to connect my life with the scientific field.
If you don't mind, can you please share with me links to any books/websites/courses on introduction to computer science.

Depending on the faculty. For me it was computer science: turbopascal, microsoft office and a little more turbopascal. Teachers defrosted from a special refrigerator for computer science teachers, for schools exactly the same are defrosted

What is computer science is very easy to google. What about what they study? here is an example of a schedule for a bachelor of computer science in Germany :)

If you don't understand something or can't translate Google translators, ask in the comments, I'll answer as.

About AI.
It is a topic in which many disciplines intersect.
And even such as psychology, physiology (of the brain) and linguistics.
In terms of mathematics, these are necessarily neural networks - perceptrons, adaptive resonance theory, etc. In terms of programming, be sure to master C and the basics of C ++. If you are brought into the engineering programming of robots, then everything will be in C. Numerical methods are a must. Urmatfiz - definitely.
Oddly enough, I would still recommend NLP. They teach well how to structure speech, isolate semantic units, concepts, etc ... Look at Bandler's "Structure of Magic" - the name is pop, and you can fall asleep from the content, but at least take a look.
Robotics is not quite the same - a robot needs a ready-made algorithm, ready-made reactions to signals from sensors, etc. In general, the question is what part of this huge task do you want to deal with.

View the list of CS Club courses . There are a lot of hot topics from the world of science. As for lecturers, I recommend paying attention to Shen, Babenko, Kulikov. Although these are only three of a larger number of extremely interesting comrades.
The club records video. So the content is also available.
