I'm reading a book on Java, there are a lot of links to AWS and Cloud Foundry. But at the same time, if AWS (it’s clear what it is), then Cloud Foundry is somehow described in style (it saves a lot of time, money, it’s cool for youth, etc.), but it’s not clear what it is exactly. Cloud Foundry is a PaaS just like Heroku. You don't have to set up the servers on which your application will run, you don't have to worry about fault tolerance or scaling with increasing load. Just "pressed a button" and your application is running somewhere in the cloud.
PS If you read "Java in the Cloud" by Long and Bastani, don't waste your time. This is a Pivotal promotional booklet, not a textbook.
