What is an application for ubuntu server to record video from a webcam?
I have a storage room with a server, it has zabbix
in the room, all my bells and whistles ala wires\a bunch of hdd\mat boards\routers and other goodies
not only I have the keys to the room, but also cunning bosses who can then roll up the shortage I used to put a camera with a micro usb flash drive on me
before, but it lasts for a very short time, but you need to store the archive for a month, at least
I can of course assemble another PC on win there and put something like ivideon or a bunch of fat progs there, but maybe there option for ubuntu?
Ideally, of course, continuous recording with motion marks and remote viewing, who will advise what? Or maybe there are no options at all?

In general, motion
is suitable for your tasks . There are ubuntu in turnips.
But in my opinion, the management should decide the issue with video surveillance.
