What is a good Wordpress book for a techie beginner?
Please suggest a good book on WordPress to learn from scratch. From scratch also incl. in terms of understanding the basics of web technologies.
We tried to look at several books, but there is water for the humanities, without explaining the basics, but immediately the recipe.
I would like to have a more or less competent introduction with an explanation of the concepts of a database, query, html page, etc. With the transition to the Wordpress device, and to the use of this technology.
I will be grateful for advice. If you can't think of a book that meets all the conditions, just recommend a good book on WordPress!
OBNV 1. A man of the old school. His way of learning a new field is to read a book with the basics, to dive into the subject. The option with chaotic, non-systemic articles on sites and examples is alien to him, and unfortunately does not suit him.

Only practice. Come up with a project and start doing it purposefully using Google :
1. Installing Wordpress on a hosting or local server
2. Wordpress admin (write a few test posts, create categories)
3. How to install a wordpress template (via FTP, via admin)
4. How to install a plugin (via FTP, via admin panel)
5. Where are the templates, plugins. (Hierarchy of directories and which one is responsible for what)
6. Only practice.
It is better to study everything on combat missions - re-read codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page (there are many pages in Russian, if English is a burden) and understand the hooks. This is enough to get started.
BUT
with an explanation of the concepts of a database, query, html page, etc.it is rather indirectly related to the development of themes and plugins for Wordpress.

We recently hired a novice proger, he studied from this book: www.bookzone.com.ua/Netshop/catalogue/catalogue_29...
Then, of course, only practice, by trial and error...
