What if you take a photo from the news (website, tv, ..), what are the penalties for copyright?

There are paid photo stocks, and if you use their photos, you can somehow calculate the amount of lost profits.
And what will be the "penalty" if I post a photo from the news on my website, for example, the news of a website, for example, on the topic: "a 10 km sports race took place in the region", but the text of the article is completely mine.
Or if I post a photo that is not available on paid photo stocks.
Will it be ordered only to remove the photo from the site or will there be a monetary "fine"?

@Tolly

I worked in the newsroom and I will say that even newsmen steal photos from each other.
If you want to use someone else's photos, then you must find a direct ban on the site. If there is no ban, indicating an active link to the site next to the photo, there will be no problems.
Usually such moments are solved like this: "Hello, remove the photo!".
It rarely comes to a fine or a trial, especially if there is nothing to take from you. However, in answer to the question - Yes, this is possible. And this is not called a fine, but compensation and depends on the greed of the author and his lawyers.
