What if the Users folder in Git is being monitored?

I'm still learning right now, so I don't really understand Git. In general, as I understand it, during the learning process, I accidentally started monitoring the C: / Users / folder, and because of this, my Atom editor loads the processor by 10-20%. I understood this by the green file names on the left in the project tab, as well as by the incredible lags of the editor itself.
What to do? Already tried deleting Git and Atom itself, nothing helped. Tried different commands but nothing worked.5dc88aed573ba852587404.png5dc88af63803a677584605.png

If your C:/Users/ folder is under git version control, then it should have a .git subfolder. Look for it there, it might be hidden. And if there is, delete it.
