What if the laptop won't boot after the Windows logo?
There is an ASUS laptop (I do not know the model), they gave it with a request to fix it, with the words "it does not boot, only a black screen." I see it is. It turned out to go into the BIOS, turned on "Enable CSM" there and the ASUS logo appeared at boot, followed by the Windows logo too, but it doesn't go any further. I tried to boot from Linux Live USB using Lubuntu, after choosing "run without installation" the Lubuntu logo and animation appears, but nothing further. I tried to run Acronis True Image, it starts, but it takes a terribly long time, only the interface loaded for about 30 minutes, there is access to viewing files and folders, but very slowly. I checked the images and the bootable USB flash drive on another computer, everything is fine. Scanning the disk from the Linux installer did not give any errors. Once Acronis boots up, the hardware is fine. In addition to the disk drive for some unknown reason it does not open, it makes noise when pressed, but does not open. What could it be?

Most likely the disk is faulty, or the system is broken.
But without diagnostics, this is all fortune-telling on the coffee grounds.
Scanning the disk from the Linux installer did not give any errors. Why scan it? Nothing else to do? You just need to look at SMART - is it alive or not.
