What if gtx 1060 put in the motherboard with pci 2.0?

Good day to all! There is a pci 2.0 motherboard bundled with a x6 1055t fan. The current vidyuha can hardly cope with films in 720. I think first to change it to a normal one, and then the whole computer. Will it work on pci 2.0 and is it worth it at all?
