What if a color printer only prints black and white?

A color printer prints text and photographs in black and white. How to fix it in windows 7 and what is needed for this?

Enable color printing in settings. Unless, of course, the color cartridges are not empty.

Is the printer inkjet or laser? If the inkjet is to do diagnostics, look at the ink levels, the state of the nozzles, additional settings and the color gamut.
If a laser printer - look at the driver settings, is there a checkmark "printing in grayscale", again check the condition of the cartridges.
And this is a completely noob topic: is the printer new, or has it already been printed in color on it? If new - when the cartridges were installed, was the protective tape pulled out? ))))))))
