What happened to php-pecl-redis?

Updated php-pecl-redis 2.2.7 to php-pecl-redis 2.2.8 and scripts stopped working with redis.
The changelog mentions about php7, maybe this was the reason, but then why is it pulling out of the turnip.
Someone faced this problem?
