More haemorrhoids - opening source codes adds additional work to developers. And the profit does not become more in most cases.

Vangers and quake have open sources)
Only there is a problem - you can still play only if you have assets, and assets come with a purchased copy)
No one will ever throw actual big games into open source, because it is not economically profitable.
If you want to argue - offer a business model that will allow you to make money in such a situation without violating the license agreement with other library suppliers - for example, with the engine developer.
