What forums discuss mathematical and engineering problems (programming)?

By the will of fate, the current routine work is very far from mathematics, which he studied at the institute and graduate school (connection with the leader's scientific school was lost). I would like to find a use at my leisure for the skills disappearing from my head (on a disinterested basis), and maybe at the same time feel that I am not too far behind the current world. He was engaged in algorithms (genetic programming), forecasting.
Where can I look for interesting mathematical or engineering projects/problems related to programming, in which one could try one's abilities "from outside"?

To keep your mathematical knowledge up to date, you can participate in sports programming tournaments:
TopCoder
Codeforces
Russian Code Cup
Yandex.Algorithm
ABBYY Cup
Krok
The first problems are quite simple and, considering your requirements, I advise you to go straight to higher numbers.
In addition, mathematical problems / projects, both ordinary and related to programming, can be found on the forums / sites:
Forum of the Moscow State University for Higher Mathematics
DxDy
Mathoverflow
MathStackexchange
MathematicaStackexchange

If you have interesting mathematical problems / problems / ideas, then you can discuss them both in the context of theory and in the context of practice on this resource. I guarantee an adequate interlocutor in my face :)

I can offer you two problems at once, the solutions of which (open source) I have not found:
Optical tracking based on 2 or more cameras
Determining the center of a circle or ellipse by its points
If you solve these two small problems, describe these solutions on Habré and post the code on github, then the rise of your karma and universal recognition is guaranteed.

If you have good skills in mathematics, have you tried to earn a living with them?
Now every fool is a programmer. Everyone can write CRUD operations on anything. But the development of truly intelligent things where a gene is needed. algorithms, classification, system identification, unsupervised learning should be in demand, are you capable of this?
