ubuntu also has standard home directory encryption that can be enabled during installation.
By the way, in order to encrypt data, you must have a license, otherwise it is illegal, as far as I know.

I really like the GUI application for EncFS - Cryptkeeper. I encrypt directories in dropbox with it.
