What exactly do you need: node or nodejs?

Good afternoon.
Found this odd thing:

$ node -v
v6.0.0
$ nodejs -v
v0.10.37

Here I do not understand what is used for gulp'a?
And should these versions match?

0.10 is already antiquity, and the executable has long been renamed from nodejs to node.
