What event is appropriate to execute after changing the value of an element's property?

Greetings.
I can not understand the following implementation:
There is an element, it has a property STATUS multiple type "List" there are several values.

Prompt what event approaches that it would be fulfilled only at change of the given property.
Tried through:

AddEventHandler("iblock", "OnAfterIBlockElementUpdate", Array("status_problem", "updateHundler"));

It handles itself a little differently, in fact, the value of the property is constantly filled, it never happens to be empty, and this event is constantly fired.

If you have a problem with recursion when changing the value of a property, then it is better to use
