Yesterday I stuck CapsMan v2 with point management and seamless roaming. I ran around the OFS with Skype on, 80% of the switches without any packet loss at all, some make the picture skip from 200 to 1000 milliseconds (well, that is, it twitched from the kick to the hop and hung for a second). I have ten points, an office of 1000 sq.m.

If the points are already poked and you need cheap and cheerful, just put the same SSID on all points.
Solutions that implement your idea are offered by Cisco in particular. It consists of special points and a special Cisco controller. It costs like a tire from an airplane.
If you want to play around, you can try to put OpenWRT on points, and then write scripts to measure RSSI to clients and ban them at those points to which the signal is too weak.
With the same SSID and security settings at the points, this is exactly what will happen - the Wi-Fi standard. When the points work in bridge mode, there will be a 1-2 second break during roaming.
