What environment can you recommend for development, fast and stable?

I work under Windows. Faced with the fact that the vagrant (homestead build) is very slow (Wordpress and Drupal, for example, can respond for 5-6 seconds). Plus, there is a problem with symlinks on shared folders (you can’t set it up without dancing with a tambourine).
Maybe something else worth trying? Docker, builds based on it (doxal for example). Who uses what?
