What does it take to be a good UX designer?
Good afternoon.
I set out to become a UX interface designer, as the field of web design and web design is very interesting.
I don’t have a specialized education (and in general, I don’t have a completed higher education), I ran into a number of questions:
1. Where to start my education?
2. Are there any schools or universities in the Usability / UX areas?
3. Is it possible to find a company or agency where they can raise and educate a worthy specialist in me?
After a long and hard search for any information about UX / UI training, I came across Julia's block ( blog.juliamalyk.com ), in which the lady talks about how she entered the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands and completed the two-year User-System Interaction program.
After reading the blog in detail, I saw that in order to pass the competition for training, you need a completed profile education and excellent knowledge of English (TOEFL or IELTS result). Then I asked myself, where to study? I found 2 schools in which, after studying in the direction of Web - Design, international diplomas are issued. The first is the International School of Design ( spb.designschool.ru/) and the second is the British Higher School of Design ( britishdesign.ru/). Training in the first lasts 1 year, training in the second lasts 4 years, depending on the specialization.
I want to summarize my monologue with my decision:
Moving to the city of St. Petersburg, looking for a job, and studying at the International School of Design for one year, as well as learning English for the TOEFL.
But doubts haunt me.
So, toaster, now I want to hear your opinion on this development scenario, so, maybe you can tell me where, after all, you can get training?
Thank you for your attention.

The International Diploma in Web Design at the International School of Design is a fake. They don't have an international diploma in Web design. They issue an international diploma only in the specialties of Interior Design (contract with Rodek). Hardly anything has changed since my release, check it out.
I myself am from there (though from the direction of "Graphic Design").
This is a small institution, and everything depends on the teachers. When I was studying there, the direction of Web Design was very weak with outdated concepts and logics.
Briton in Moscow is another matter. Many agree on the change - that today - this is the only institution that produces professionals. The quality of education affects the price for it. Some save up for years just to get there.
Of course, you can learn on your own, but if you really want to "deeply" enter the essence of the profession - without an experienced teacher and a theoretical background, it will be difficult (impossible)
read + design. There is a huge amount of literature and blogs that give general ideas about UI / UX. Try to work on projects and read case studies, think about how you could improve it. In the load - books on cognitive psychology. Books by Jeff Russkin and Alan Cooper are suitable for starting, plus there are a lot of materials on interfaces on vc.ru.
Most professionals today are self-taught. And in a couple of years, designers themselves will make wireframes everywhere) And designers will retrain as analysts) Testing and testing again.
All these deep entries into the profession are nonsense, and training in most cases is a scam for money. You just don't believe in yourself. If you don’t believe in yourself, then no one will believe in your projects either) Stick to Booking, Facebook, Amazon - these are incredibly complex interfaces. Learn the language, but the money for learning is better spent on books or entertainment)
