A bit confused... What exactly does AdMob pay for? For clicks and views or for one thing (and is it configured somehow or is everything calculated using a special formula)? I would like to know the exact information. We are talking about ordinary banners.

Payment goes for clicks. But since different clicks cost differently and are a very random phenomenon, AdMob does not write anywhere how much you received for each specific click (although you can see the number of clicks itself) - only the total amount per day / week / month, etc. It is still recommended to focus on CPM (cost per 1000 impressions), which is calculated based on total revenue and total number of impressions. It is understood that if there are no artificial manipulations of fraud, this value is already distributed more evenly and is more suitable for estimation and forecasts.
