What does a beginner need to create a home analytical system?

I would like to write an application (s) for home accounting - accounting, stocks and goods movement, knowledge base (recipes, reviews, etc.). There is no goal to become a programmer, rather itching to do something for yourself, and basic programming skills will obviously not be superfluous.

Practically zero skill. About five or ten years ago there was a university where databases (MS Access) and programming (Pascal) were studied in one semester.
According to the information that I found, they write that Access is quite limited and it is better to use other, more modern databases. Although, I like that there is a visual side, for beginners, I think it's important.

Actually, the question itself is: where to start and what to choose? Maybe there is even some kind of ready-made course or book, where the goal is to create an application, and not enter the profession?

Why reinvent the wheel at all? For most requirements, there are ready-made solutions. Accounting - excel. Stocks and commodity circulation - most likely, too, will do. Knowledge base - wiki-like stuff (well, or markdown + synchronization).
Here, rather, it is necessary to start with the formulation and isolation of individual systems, outlining the requirements and such paperwork.

databases (MS Access) were studied
Studied - use knowledge: ready-made Access database .
And there are many more ms+access+ready+bases
