What do you use more when developing an application for Android - an emulator or a real phone?

Now I am actively developing applications for android and I constantly use debugging under a real phone in order to better "feel" the interaction interface. Although you have to wait longer for installation at startup.
Is this a normal practice or no one does this?

@Wade2k

and I constantly use debugging under a real phone

... exactly until you need to check your sub^W application for 100500:
  • screen resolutions
  • screen sizes
  • screen aspect ratio
  • pixel densities
  • api versions
  • younameit

And the emulator does not suit me at all. Working with bluetooth and USB device :(
