What do you think about courses from Yandex in Data Science?
Hello everyone)
I wanted to know what you think about Yandex.Practicum courses on Data Science for 90k?
Is it worth going to them or is it better to choose other courses? About geekbrains, for example, too much dirt has been written, there is generally zero desire.
I'm a beginner myself, I don't know proging languages, I just started learning python... Why do I want to study Data Science? I want matan and work with AI and computer vision.
Please do not offer to study yourself using free materials, stupid advice, everyone perceives information differently.

To begin with, before you give the quarterly salary of the average resident of the Russian Federation for courses, understand whether you like it. I know enough cases when a person started to code, then it turned out it was not him. Do you really like math? Read Perelman, learn about the basic mat. concepts in IT and in particular in DS. Math may not actually seem as cool as they say it is. Do you enjoy writing code? Have you had cases when you cannot solve the problem for 50-60 hours. Many people give up after 3 hours of working on one bug, but such tasks will appear.
Well, about the courses, in principle, I have something to say. In particular, about Yandex: I looked at what Yandex Lyceum is, so the guys there have been studying syntax for a year, for me it's a waste of time. I don’t know what there is for paid ones and I’m ready to put my breakfast on, that no one here has passed them, but we’re moving on to another problem of courses in general. I spent the last week of the interview. We were looking for a junior developer. 30 percent of the applicants turned out to be "Victims of courses", I want to note that they went to offline courses, they had a real mentor. So the guy, for example, after 3 months of training, said that he did not know what const was, why it was needed, and in general, they were told at school that they should always use let, but why they didn’t say. Another lady could not explain what asynchrony is, although she had already taken similar offline courses. Both took paid courses. My opinion is this: online and offline courses are prepared by low-skilled specialists who know what programming is in general terms. And you don’t need to assume that if Yandex, then qualitatively. Programming is a specific area that involves self-education, while in courses you shift the burden of responsibility for your learning onto the organizers.
And please do not say that Yandex is trying for the sake of people. He, like the geekbrains and other underdogs, is trying to raise the dough on the hype.
Why do I want to work in Data Science?
Better than Gaybrains for sure. And about Yandex - you would certainly find someone who passed them. There are none here as you can see. Not by date, but about other areas, I got acquainted with the courses of the Specialist (if you are normal with MSC, you can do it in person) and I liked almost everyone there.
PS: for the gifted, it is better to explain that "Why I want ..." this is not necessarily the author's desire to share his experiences, but as an option, an explanation of his, let's say, TK in front of the respondents.
PS2: if you pass the course, write a post with +/- on some peekaboo or somewhere else. There will be info for people in the future.
To select juniors for the money of candidates. Good business.
On this topic. What prevents you from taking the course program and finding it yourself just by the name of the book and practicing?
The only plus is that perhaps there are people who led combat projects. Or maybe a recent June was sent and he stupidly reads the course.
In general, my attitude towards large companies. Of course, you need to work there, purely for show-off, but later you can go free swimming, more headaches, but more money.
