What do you recommend to use as a backend for a mobile application?

Good day! There is an application that parses news from our site. We decided to completely abandon this site, and transfer everything to a mobile application. That is, now the site is not needed at all. Now I'm thinking how to write a backend without PHP... The main thing for me here is to communicate with the server via json, and take data from the database. In fact, PHP is not needed at all. How to be here? In which direction to dig? And yes, the server will be very heavy load!

Very big is how many requests per second?
I always recommend using parse.com for the mobile backend, but unfortunately I don't have a very large load anywhere.

What you know better on that and write.
Why abandon the site entirely? why not keep both the website and the mobile app?
I think you are obsessed with

PHP is not needed at all.

If the goal is simply to abandon PHP, then this is not rational, although I am not a fan of PHP (and also not an opponent), but it holds the load well.

The same question came up not too long ago. Since he knew Java best of all, he wrote in Java. Everything works perfectly. Although my load was not so big
