What do you need to embed a video on a page from other sites?

There is a project written in rails (maybe this is important). I want users to be able to attach video links and watch videos directly on my site. How is this done? Oh yes, they didn’t just look, but also got descriptions, headlines, etc.

https://github.com/thibaudgg/video_info allows you to get an iframe / embed from the link, which is then inserted where necessary. You can add support for additional services if the basic set is not enough.
