What do you do if you don't like your new job?
Hello. Need advice on what to do in this situation.
I got a new job a month ago, in a highload project, literally on the very first day I saw the code, I was speechless. A self-written framework (if you can call it that), everything is in a heap, there are no comments at all, on the first day I already deployed the code for production Oo, there are testers, but why test? if you can immediately on prod? ))
To the question: will we write tests? - answer: why? if we have the principle of rapid development and laying out features...
In a month, I have already encountered several situations of critical errors that lead to crappy results of the project.
The developers of the old ones were kicked out, they took on new ones (we are trying to do better), but anyway, I understand that I don’t like it here. Of course, not everything is so bad, there are glimpses, but at my last job, I also raked shit code for a year and a half.
That's why I left and stumbled upon the same rake.
Now I'm on a test period, another month before the end. I think to leave. But what to say to a new employer, why did I work for 2-3 months at the previous job and left? How will they look at it?
Advise how to be?
PS project in php

Very bad for productivity. I don't think you should work where you don't want to. A normal employer or recruiter should not pay attention to this, although they have not encountered it, but judging by logic, it is obvious. After all, you're not selling noodles. A good programmer is a good project.
You write that you want to leave. Do you want to leave? So you need to leave.
It's always better to tell the truth. How will they look? If, according to the results of the test, they will be ready to leave you, but you leave, reporting it normally, nothing bad will happen. When talking somewhere, you can even give the phone number of the boss from this place. And you can say that he took a break for three months, lived in Bali ... let them envy)
The probationary period is needed not only so that the employer is convinced that the employee is suitable for him, but also so that the employee is convinced that the company is suitable for him. You didn't fit. You can leave, you can come to the management and say what you don't like and how it could be corrected. Maybe they want to change something.
Live with it and forget about Steve Jobs with the "favorite job" theories. It doesn't happen, it's a utopia. Develop and look for a higher-level job that does not have the problems you indicated (this happens, because it depends on the employees first of all).
This alone suggests that the quality of development there does not smell, IMHO. No tests - there should be a cool team lead and code review. Least.
They hired you not on a permanent full-time basis, but on a contract basis. For 2-3 months. Saw down a complex feature. One of the working options for answering such questions.
could you write an article on habr?
I am sure that many people were interested to know about your project
