What direction is worth doing in order to then work in the field of Data Science?
Hello. I am an applicant, I want to work in the field of Data Science, analytics, etc. in the future.
Which direction should I enter: software engineering or applied mathematics?
It is clear that ideally it would be nice to enroll in applied mathematics and computer science, but at the HSE and MIPT I do not pass by points, and other programs (except Moscow State University) of this kind have their drawbacks (in mythi, as I was told, everything is too twisted on physics, in St. Petersburg State University - too many non-core subjects)

Knowing math to learn python or r is much easier than knowing programming to learn math.
As an option - MEPhI, and later try at ShAD, or at St. Petersburg State University, and later at CSC
