I just rewatched the movie "The Social Network" the other day, and wondered why Harvard's network went down? Do they provide hosting services? Or did he take it from the laptop and launch the site? I'm new to this and don't know much about it, just curious. If you don't mind, please answer the question.

On a regular personal computer, most likely. In 2011, there were still much fewer laptops than now.
