What device to buy for Android testing?

Started working with android applications (not games).
Advise which inexpensive most versatile device to buy for tests?
There have never been smartphones on android - with epl it’s easier in terms of layout, but here hdpi ldpi and so on.

A cool device for development is the Nexus 5, I think. On board the latest version of Android, well, in general, as a Google device. Unfortunately, you will not find such a device to test all resolutions, so you can choose the average and adjust while testing other resolutions on emulators, and your target device will be with an average resolution

Take a couple more Chinese - it's cheap and there will be a bigger zoo. Unless, of course, a zoo is needed. In the case of a simple application, it is enough to have a tablet and a phone to check the convenience of layout.
