What courses would you recommend on MS DBMS administration?
Hello!
There is a need to grow a database administrator who would solve the following issues:
1. backups;
2. performance;
3. holivar with "shit code" (study of query execution plans, RAM leak, etc.
). The average database size is 100 GB. The maximum size of a DB with which it was necessary to work - 250 GB.
Iron scaling gradually hits the ceiling, so the need to build up admin skills.
I ask you to advise experienced admins on a development strategy. I would like to transform the experience gained in the future into the main specialization.

Good. Courses, unfortunately, this is not grown. It is only work, and long-term. This is about debugging, execution plans and miracles with brakes out of the blue. By the way, it’s not a fact that this is an admin skill, it’s more up to programmers to debug.
But as for backups - this is a fairly simple question. But here, too, courses are not needed, you can just read sql.ru and do everything automatically. For example, not being an admin, I wrote backup and restore systems for a combat base on a test base, scripting metadata, etc. I can help a little with this.
In general, the meaning of this message: courses are not needed. Look for a guru - and learn from him, plus take on as many tasks as possible in your free time.
