What course of the programmer to choose?

Человек, пометавшись несколько лет с места на место и попробовав разные направления деятельности, стал на рынке труда "попрошайкой"(метафора). Почему попрошайкой? Резюме провисело несколько месяцев, поступали предложения в сферу продаж, но для меня эта сфера не выгодна ни в чем, да и погорел уже несколько раз на этом поприще. В итоге снова пришлось идти абы куда,
чтобы заработать на базовые человеческие нужды, хотя платят более чем для моей деятельности. Хорошо что я не животное и могу обучиться чему то новому, да и финансовая нагрузка растёт. Планирую подготовиться и попробовать поступить в институт, получить дистанционно комплексное образование. Но, текущая обстановка меня пугает, да и по годам уже не студент давно. Есть какие то навыки JS, node, SQL и по-немногу всего из мира вычислений, но они вбиты тяжёлыми граблями самостоятельно. Использовать это в профессиональной деятельности видится мне опасным

Should I go to courses instead of the institute and what should I choose, if I should? Pros and cons (only for me) that I see:

+ Subject areas are practically limited to a specific set, but right there
- You need to comprehend the basics and be aware of updates in many other professions
+ Less competition, but again
- Small community, not enough information on public resources, a code example could only be found on gavnokod.ru
- Syntax:
1. Russian is not that bad, but it's still more customary to write in Latin. I heard that it is possible to write in English, but I'm not sure that business will give such an opportunity
2. Pascal's style. I don't know why, but always rejection.

+ The scope is expanding, the language is being integrated into various software products for the possibility of expanding the functionality.
+ Possibility of quick prototyping of simple functionality for various needs
+ There is an amateur experience, but there and then
- I got to know disinterestedly (yes, there is such a hobby), so the knowledge and habits are "anti-business", as it seems to me
- I am not familiar with the fashionable frameworks that are used everywhere (react, etc.)
- Layout and design. If the layout is still feasible (with pipettes and grief in half), then the design is not at all mine - a supporter of minimalism that is pleasing to the eye.

What pros and cons do you see, or have you already experienced for yourself?
