Upwork
rotarepo, 2021-05-21 21:44:44

What country to put in Upwork?

The developer is a UK citizen, has a passport, driver's license and a UK home address. But he is also a citizen of the Russian Federation and is physically located in the Russian Federation, and comes to the UK occasionally and not for long. Does such a developer have the right to set himself a country - UK? And does it make sense in terms of earnings?

No.
And does it make sense in terms of earnings?

In general, no. But some people, of course, can discriminate on this basis.

I would recommend putting the country where more is located, at least this will avoid problems 2 of taxation.

He really doesn’t care about ours, let him put any one, you or another, you already need to choose if there are any needs for this, at any moment you can change the country

As far as I know, upwork looks at the IP address. If your ip address is not similar to the addresses used in the UK, the upwork can block your account. It is also not recommended to use VPN services. But I can’t give an exact link to the recommendations now, I just read it somewhere when I was interested in a similar issue.

You can put any country. For taxes, there is Tax residence in the settings.
