What could be the reason for not working SSD in a laptop?
I have an Acer Extensa 5620g laptop. This is a very old laptop and it became necessary to install a 120GB SSD 2.5. The BIOS does not see the disk at all. The Windows installer sees the disk, but says that installing the system on this drive is not possible. At the same time, there is to install any HDD 2.5, then there are no problems - you can install Windows and it is displayed in the BIOS. I tried to switch the modes of operation of the sata, pulled up the driver during installation. Once in the BIOS, sdd was displayed, Windows was installed and the disk stopped displaying again. I tested write and read speed on desktop pc, checked for errors and ssd is fully working.
Once again, I’ll clarify: if you start life sit, then the disk is visible and works. The Windows installer sees the disk, but does not want to install Windows there. The disk is missing from the bios.
Bios, if I understand correctly the newest, Phoenix 1.35 is now installed and I did not find newer on the network.
