What could be the problem with the router freezing?

There is a DIR-300 router at home. It's been working for 10 years now. Everything was fine before buying a tablet for my wife (Digma Optima D7.1). And this is where the problems started.
If the tablet is connected via WI-FI to the router, then after 5-10-15-20 minutes the router freezes. I reboot it by turning it off - and after 5-10-15-20 minutes it hangs again.
At the same time, as I understand it, it's not the number of devices that matters here (Previously, up to 3 devices could be connected via WI-FI + a computer via a cord, and now even if one tablet and a computer, it hangs.
That is, the problem It was in the tablet. Also,
when interviewed at work, one of my colleagues had the same problem. But he hangs from the phone.

Suspension for D-Link is a common thing.
Previously, it didn’t hang, most likely because they used to work on the IEEE 802.11b frequency, and the new device works on IEEE 802.11g. Here the router is getting worse. He was not used to working at such frequencies.
Change the router to Mikrotik and all your problems will end there.
Or try updating the firmware. True, I changed my DIR-300 many times - it did not help. Changed to Mikrotik and forgot about dlink like a bad dream
