What could be the problem with displaying RAM in the virtual machine?

A virtual machine with 4 GB of RAM is deployed on VMware. Next, the RAM was increased to 12 GB, the virtual machine was rebooted. In the machine itself, under the admin account, I see 12 GB, and the user sees 4 GB under his account. Rebooting the machine didn't help... I can't figure out why =(

How do you check the amount of RAM under the admin and under the user?
