I’m making a YouTube header for myself, but I’m new to Photoshop, and I would like to hear criticism about what colors to use and what can be added and what can be removed.

The combination of blue and red is quite vigorous in itself, but here, of course, you decide. In terms of choosing shades for logos and everything related to them, Pantone rules. It is also worth making black not quite black - something like this:
With such a question, it makes sense to contact Artemy Lebedev's studio - they will notably criticize it there.
From myself I can say (my IMHO, most likely not coinciding with the opinions of others) that if this particular logo is finalized, then the shadow from the text must be unambiguously removed: firstly, it makes the text unreadable, and secondly, it does not agree with the large shadow in the spirit of flat design. It is better to make the frame the same size on all sides (the same width as the circle), make the distance from the letters to the frame the same. Remove the uneven shadow inside the circle. Make the rectangle smaller in width so that it goes beyond the circle by two widths of the border of this circle - as a bonus, the logo will fit well into the circle and square (suddenly you want to order stickers).
