What code editor to use for a weak computer?

There is a weak laptop with two cores with 2GB of RAM. I can typeset on notepad++, but its functionality is not very good. Tried on vs code, the program takes a very long time to load, slows down. There is also chrome open. Can you recommend something between notepad++ and vs code. Or does the laptop need to be changed?

vim - I use it myself and do not advise

It is unlikely that you will find something easier than Sublime Text.
This is the best option, also because you can tweak only the plugins you need. By default, it does not have anything extra to load the system.
