What CMS to use for the project?

Good day!
I would like to advise. A non-profit organization turned to them with a request to create a web resource for them that would meet the requirements "from above" and help them organize their work. The organization deals with animals. In general terms, the requirements are described as follows:

  • Requires a multi-user system to differentiate access rights;
  • "Outwardly" (for unauthorized users) should look like the most typical news site + catalog of animals, with optional sorting according to certain criteria (type, breed, age, etc);
  • "From the inside" you need the ability to manage these very news + static pages;
  • Maintaining a "catalog" of animals (necessary fields, of course, will be added / removed in the process of work);
  • Ability to export data from the "catalog" to doc\xls format for reporting, after pre-selection according to certain criteria;
  • Unified photo gallery \ media content \ documentation repository (in the form of files);
  • Feedback from site visitors ( not through mail, but an internal system of messages \ tickets \ etc, so that any of the employees can answer the visitor's question);
  • Organization - non-profit, the cheaper - the better.

In which direction should you look? Which solution out of the box covers the maximum requirements? I would be very grateful for the sensible advice.

Take the CMS that you yourself know best . You made 50 sites on Wordpress - take it and don't think, act.
A lot of functionality, for example, a news feed, feedback, a gallery, is covered by any CMS + a couple of plugins, perhaps. Part of the functionality, for example, export / import from xls, in any case, you will need to add it by hand.
Separately, the point about the ticket system confuses me ... There is, for example, omnidesk , which allows you to centralize all correspondence by e-mail, with the appointment of responsible persons, control of progress, etc. For Joomla, I definitely saw a similar plugin, but I don’t remember the name.

I would take Drupal, of course, the brain will have it (in terms of settings, etc.), but for that it will cover the tasks.

Most CMS support at least half of what you mentioned. Some can be extended to the desired functionality with plugins. At one time I did (plus / minus) similar on Joomla, but now I switched to October CMS . See if it suits the functionality (including plugins), you can try it. If something is missing, making your own plugin is very simple .

DotPlant2 can help out , there are a lot of opportunities on it, but you may have to finish it for your needs, but if you work with Yii2
