What characteristics should be taken into account when building a backup server?
Backup algorithm:
1. Files are transferred from the client machine to the server using rsync
2. Archived
3. Added to a specific directory
Preliminary configuration:
Mat. board - SUPERMICRO MBD-X11SSL-FO
Processor - Xeon E3-1240 V5 3.5 GHz
Memory - DDR4 2133 MHz 4x4GB
LSI Controller - MegaRAID SAS 9361-4i SGL (either 1 or 10 raids will be assembled)
Screws - WD Enterprise (haven't chosen a suitable one yet ) )
Question:
Since the most resource-intensive operation is data archiving (volumes of several TB), is this configuration enough to quickly archive / unzip data?

The most resource-intensive operation is the long and sad writing of files to disk.
Archiving is worth seriously considering if you have terabytes of GREAT squeezing content, like text. Otherwise, it's cheaper to stick discs than to stretch the pleasure of unpacking for half a day.
