What characteristics are needed to create a small hosting?
I want to start a small hosting for my clients.
The question is how much RAM is needed, the number of cores, etc., so that all sites work without lags.
I plan to provide 1 client: 1 domain and 100 MB of disk space. And given that the maximum number will be 500-600 accounts.
It is planned to place only landings and small html sites (without cms, database, etc.)

Static sites are rather indifferent to the processor and memory - there is nothing to load the processor with, except for the actual shipment of content over the network. Therefore, the main emphasis, as you understand, will be on network bandwidth and ping to users.
In general, in our time, such tasks are not solved by buying a "healthy iron server in advance." They take some virtual capacities, which, if the project takes off, are gradually scaled up. At some point, when it is already clear that there are enough clients, you can switch to your own hardware, but definitely not start with this. Capital costs are too high, but you still need to administer all this, change disks, for example, maintain the network ...
On the one hand, planning 600 accounts at once is stupid. Even up to a hundred, the concept will change 10 times.
On the other hand, if we are talking about bare HTML, even the cheapest VPS can handle it for 3 kopecks (1 core, half a giga of memory).
That is, the license for the socket will be more expensive than the VPS itself.
But one and a half thousand can be met.
