What causes Safari to consume a lot of power?

Safari is consistently a high power application for the operating system, even if I have one tab open with a light site, according to system monitoring, the average energy impact is 21. Because of this, when surfing, on 50-75% brightness, the battery holds only 5-6.5 hours instead of the declared 10.
What could be the reason for such a high consumption?
